Harvest Dates: September 12 through October 4, 2002
Fermentation: Small open fermenters, punch down 3 times per day, Yeast: Cepage Merlot, 14 day average fermentation, press off to barrel, Inoculate for malo-lactic fermentation ( viniflora oenos )
Barrels: Half new thin stave American oak with some older French Bordeaux Traditional
Tasting Notes: Soft smooth tannins with ripe dark cherries, raspberries with a touch of cranberry, violets and green tea.

LOLITA Merlot Wine Information
Our LOLITA merlot is the only wine we make using grapes from other Mt Veeder vineyards, in addition to a small percentage of our estate cabernet sauvignon. The wine is aged in American as well as French oak. The resulting wine is sexy and exotic, perfect with all sorts of food.
